Solution: The project was delivered by a joint team of our data engineers and QA, coupled with the platform team on the Client’s side. We developed a comprehensive data & analytics platform from scratch, leveraging a suite of Azure technologies to revamp the Client’s analytics capabilities, enabling enhanced data-driven decision-making and customer service.

Technical Details:

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) for robust data integration capabilities, allowing seamless and efficient data ingestion from various sources, including transactional systems and user interaction logs.
  • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen 2) for highly scalable and secure staging data storage, designed to handle big data challenges efficiently while ensuring cost-efficiency
  • Snowflake on Azure for its powerful data warehousing capabilities, and dbt for transforming data within it. This combination proved highly scalable and engineer-friendly for performing complex data transformations and analytics.
  • Azure Purview for a unified data governance and cataloging solution that helped monitor their data estate, comply with regulations, and get detailed insights about data lineage.
  • Power BI for its advanced data visualization tools, allowing to create insightful, real-time dashboards and reports for both internal stakeholders and their customers.

Migration to Microservices in Insurance

Client: Insurance company from Europe

Challenge: The Client faced challenges with their existing monolithic backend system, which was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain and scale as the company introduced new insurance products and services. The system was slow, inflexible, and hindered their ability to quickly adapt to market changes or deploy new features.

Solution: Our engineers played a pivotal role in breaking down the monolithic architecture into a more dynamic and scalable microservices architecture both on design and implementation stages. This new system was created to improve scalability, facilitate quicker updates, and allow independent scaling of features.

Technical Details:

  • Python and Django for building five key microservices, each responsible for a distinct aspect of the insurance platform, such as claims processing, customer management, policy management, payment processing, and notifications.
  • AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for container orchestration, which facilitated the deployment, scaling, and management of the application containers across a cluster of server nodes.
  • Amazon RDS and S3 for ensuring reliable and highly performant storage services. This allowed for better data isolation and security between services.
  • API Gateway: Implemented an API gateway that provided a single entry point for all microservices, simplifying the architecture and enhancing security with centralized authentication and rate limiting.

Business Outcomes:

  • Reducing Time-To-Market: The new architecture significantly reduced the complexity of updating existing features and sped up the deployment of new functionalities
